providing portable restrooms for the 1984 Olympics. From this experience, Barry recognized the potential of an emerging market, "Special Events".
The company began investing in flushing portable restrooms, eventually purchasing the design and developing improvements in the "VIP" portable restroom that has become a standard in the upscale Special Events market, such as, golf tournaments, tennis tournaments, concerts, movie premieres, etc. Barry also helped design and expand the restroom trailer product line, which serves both the Special Event and Production industries. In 2002, Barry participated in providing these upscale restrooms for the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics.
In 1985 Barry moved the company to Santa Clarita, California in order to better serve the growing Santa Clarita and Antelope Valley communities. In the 1990's Barry expanded services to include temporary fencing, temporary rental and servicing operations in Bakersfield, California, and the fabrication of "VIP" restrooms in Ontario, California. In 2001 the company purchased a facility in North Hollywood, California for sanitation and septic system services.
Nancy Gump Melancon, Barry and Pati's daughter, joined the company in 1988, working with her Dad in expanding the Special Events market. Nancy worked with her Dad for five years before branching off, developing a staff of four Special Events Coordinators, increasing Special Events revenue six-fold over the last ten years.
Upon the birth of Nancy's first of three sons, Pati "retired" after twenty years in the office and continues to help with family obligations. While Nancy manages the Special Events Sales Department, Nancy and Pati participate in the Executive Committee that reviews company policies, performance and growth.
